Following on from today’s earlier post about PR stunts, I’ve just got an email from the PR of Chez Jules, the new Pierre Levicky restaurant which we mentioned here. I’ve reprinted it here. An inspired idea or evidence of the business sense which led to the collapse of the old Pierre Victoire chain?

‘On Friday 18 December, to celebrate the launch of Chez Jules in Hanover street, the owners of Chez Pierre are serving free food all day from 12 to 12pm.

There will be a choice of chargrilled beef skirt steak with shallots, red wine and fresh thyme or roast sea bass fillet with bouillabaisse, gruyere and rouille and of course a green salad, saucissons and gherkins, crusty bread and jug of water as a welcoming tapas.

A vegetarian option will be available too. There is no catch, people will have to pay for drinks or desserts if they so wish.
