The waiting staff at Sloans were known for their flamboyant dress sense

In Glasgow, Sloans are continuing their EatFilm promotion with a screening of Priscilla Queen of the Desert this coming Saturday evening.

Just to ensure that you have sufficient strength to belt out I Will Survive at the end of the night, the film will be preceeded by a three course meal.

The dishes on offer include a tigar prawn cocktail, sea bass and celeriac puree and a chocolate fondue for two which, of course, is listed as the ‘queen of the desserts’. Boom boom!

Next Wednesday, Monty Python’s Life of Brian gets an airing and, the week after, The Hurt Locker will be screened to an accompaniment of couscous and a lamb tagine.

The following Wednesday’s are taken up with showings of Indiana Jones and The Goonies. If memory serves, chilled monkey brains and sheep eyes were on the menu in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom so it will be interesting to see how  Sloans ties in with that particular theme.
