The sun always shines on Taste of Edinburgh

The Taste of Edinburgh food festival has unveiled some of the restaurants, chefs and features which will be part of the event at the capital’s Inverleith Park on 28th – 30th May.

The line up so far includes: Centotre, Hotel Du Vin, Malmaison, The Rutland and Vincaffé.  Newcomers to this year’s festival include Tony’s Singh’s Tony’s Table, Cucina at Hotel Missoni, Amber, The Scottish Café & Restaurant and Hanam’s.

TV favourite, cook and author, Rachel Allen, will be one of the leading chefs set to officially open this year’s festival.   Additional celebrity chefs will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Among the new features are:

  • AEG Cookery Classes, run in partnership with Nick Nairn Cook School – for budding chefs to competent cooks.
  • ‘Grill A Chef’ – an appetising Chef’s Table will host groups of up to 20 people and give visitors the chance to interrogate their favourite chefs.

As well as the new features, the festival will host old favourites:

  • The ScottishPower Taste Theatre will again present live demonstrations from masters of the kitchen and some familiar local chef talent.
  • The Taste Kitchen sponsored by Waitrose is also back for 2010, where top gastronomists will demonstrate how to prepare original, exciting dishes using top quality Scottish ingredients.
  • Cuisine D’Amour, sponsored by Peugeot RCZ, is returning, showing festival-goers how to combine classic French style and flair with live cooking demonstrations.
  • Hotel Missoni VIP Lounge, where VIP ticket holders will have access to exclusive talks from top name celebrity chefs while sipping champagne in a Missoni designed area.

Tickets go on sale today.
