Cookingmania can help you get into your swimwear

The Edinburgh culinary school Cookingmania has today moved from its base in Davidsons Mains to new premises on North West Circus Place in Stockbridge.

Originally conceived as a cooking school for kids, Cookingmania is moving into the adult market due to an increasing number of enquiries from people keen to sharpen their kitchen skills.

Cookingmania’s creator and owner Ethel Blair explains why she feels they seem to be riding out the economic downturn so successfully. ‘Our children’s classes and parties have always been extremely popular but were we’ve see a big increase in terms of enquiries and bookings from adults of all ages and culinary standards. They have been coming to us either to learn to cook new dishes or experiment with new culinary styles – whether it’s a class on how to cook game, or how to cook Indian or French cuisine.’

Themed classes, cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and corporate entertainment packages will all be on offer.

Possibly due to the recent forecasts of sunny weather, Cookingmania will also be running Bikini Fit nutritional cooking classes for those wishing to learn how to eat more healthily and perhaps fit into last summer’s pool gear.
