][1]It’s shaping up to be a glorious day and I intend to finish a couple of posts and then skive off the rest of the day.
But what to do while playing hookey from my usual strict regime of writing a couple of sentences and then wandering through to the kitchen to see if something new has magically appeared in the fridge in the three minutes since I last looked?
I’m very tempted to head up to Islay. The Islay Festival or Feis Ile gets underway today. It’s a week long hooley with plenty of ceilidhs, bands and fun activities like sending Chinese lanterns into the night sky.
Naturally, Islay’s many distilleries are heavily involved. I like the idea of doing a Laphroaig tasting on board a Sea Safari rigid inflatable boat.
Bowmore’s whisky and food matching class also looks as though it could be a hoot.
Alternatively, I might just stay at home and try to perfect my bacon cocktails. That little number below features bacon-infused Chase vodka and smoke from maple woodchips.
