Tristan Welch is coming to the Taste of Edinburgh

Chef Tristan Welch is to host a pop-up charity restaurant in Inverleith Park from 28th – 30th May, as part of the forthcoming Taste of Edinburgh in association with ScottishPower.

Welch, will swap the state of the art kitchen at his London restaurant Launceston Place, for a pop-up charity restaurant and kitchen at the Taste of Edinburgh event.

The charity restaurant signals a brand new initiative for Taste of Edinburgh 2010 and all proceeds from the Launceston Place pop-up will be given to leading charity, Action Against Hunger.

Throughout the weekend, Welch, who appeared on BBC2s Great British Menu, will run the pop-up restaurant serving a menu which reflects his unique culinary style.

The taster menu will be on offer throughout the festival and will include some of Launceston Place’s classic dishes using a host of fresh Scottish ingredients.

These include his Scottish lobster soup with wild herb mousse; roasted beef fillet with black truffles, watercress and early potatoes from Ayrshire followed by salt-baked chocolate.
