No, I’m not convinced either. I always thought that one of the pleasures of eating sushi was its elegance. I liked the idea that a bona fide sushi chef had to train under a sushi guru for several years before they were even allowed to touch the rice, never mind slice the fish.
Maybe it’s just me but eating sushi from a tube doesn’t have quite the same gourmet thrill to it. It’s a bit like finding that Pot Noodle are doing a truffle flavour variety.
