We’re all rather excited here at 5pm Towers! No, we haven’t discovered any more bacon-related items (fear not, Jonathan – we’re always on the lookout!)

Tickets are now on sale for the Foodies Festival in Edinburgh – and as it’s 2 tickets for the price of 1, it’s a very tempting offer! The Festival will be taking place from Friday the 13th until Sunday the 15th of August, and will be buzzing with demonstrations from Michelin star and other top chefs, tasting sessions and masterclasses, a market with fresh local produce on sale, and even a Cooking with Kids masterclass to entertain the budding young chefs in the family!

As it’s a 2 for 1 deal, when selecting the number of tickets you would like to purchase simply choose 1 to receive 2 tickets, select 2 to receive 4 tickets, and so on. I have to say, it sounds unmissable – and rumour has it that some of us from 5pm Towers may even be there…

We’re also pleased to welcome three more restaurants to the 5pm site – greetings and salutations to our two newcomers in Edinburgh – Plaza Garibaldi’s and Kinellan Restaurant!

Plaza Garibaldi’s is named after the Mexico City tourist spot, but the restaurant itself can be found closer to home on Hanover Street in Edinburgh’s City Centre. With it’s laidback atmosphere, it promises to tantalise your tastebuds with authentic Mexican food prepared just like it is in Mexico (including home made corn tortillas).

And offering a cuisine that’s a bit more local, Kinellan Restaurant also has a relaxed ambience and dishes up Scottish food with seasonal menus using the best local produce. The restaurant is located in Ellersly House Hotel in Murrayfield, and also has a Whisky Bar for diners to relax in for a drink before or after their meal. Not only that, it proudly offers over 50 special Malts to choose from if you’re not averse to a wee dram.

And not forgetting our newest Glasgow restaurant, hello and welcome to Sibbo’s Delhi Dhabba!

At the Charing Cross end of Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow City Centre, this is a family run restaurant serving up traditional homestyle Indian cuisine in a comfortable setting. And for those who don’t want to be too adventurous when ordering, they have some familiar European dishes available to choose from along with vegetarian options as well.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling a bit peckish now…
