Sabaton play The Garage in October. They may prefer a curry to a sole Meuniere.

On Sauchiehall Street, Rare 325, a short-lived seafood and game restaurant, has closed and been replaced by the Mumbai Brasserie.

Situated at the rock ‘n’ roll end of Sauchiehall Street, Rare always looked a little out of place.

It’s easy to be wise in hindsight but gig-goers spilling out of the Garage or the ABC never seemed the most likely candidates for a Dover sole Meuniere or a dainty plate of chicken pate.

The new venture looks on safer ground with a menu of kebabs, burgers, Middle Eastern and Indian starters, pizzas and a range of familiar curries.

Also new in the area is the Wok to Walk, a stripped down pan-Asian stir-fry joint where you assemble your own customised meal from a list of ingredients such as rice noodles, Jasmine rice, prawns, shitake mushrooms and a range of sauces such as garlic and black pepper, curry coconut and teriyaki.

Naturally, there are also squillions of 5pm members eager for your custom in the area. Tapas International, the Kama Sutra, Alla Turca and Antipasti are just some of them. Click through to Glasgow city centre to see what 5pm deals are on offer today.
