The Herald’s Ron Mackay draws the blog’s attention to a new restaurant on Glasgow’s Argyle Street.

Tropeiro is named after Brazilian cowboys and its main attraction is its take on the South American churrasco or barbecue.

Opening hot on the heels of Boteco do Brasil on the Trongate, it would seem as though South America is this season’s black/whoopie pie/insert your own neologism.

The Herald’s review is here.

Edinburgh’s Hawke and Hunter have just launched a new menu courtesy of their new chef Gareth Baxter who used to work at the Old Course in St Andrews.

Mr Baxter likes to cook what he calls food with character such as West Coast scallops with Stornoway black pudding, broccoli puree and Arboath Smokie sauce. The full menu is here.

Cheers to Hawke and Hunter
