Is anyone else a little uneasy about the idea of serving cholesterol-busting statins alongside fast food meals?
The proposal has been widely reported in today’s papers. The idea is that wolfing a small sachet of statins could offset the increased risk caused by your half pound burger ‘n’ fries.
I can see the practical use in this and it does appear to be a very rational approach to dealing with heart disease but doesn’t it seem absurdly decadent?
It reminds me of the Roman vomitarium; a place where people at a feast could go and make room for further gluttony.
