Allan Mawn, the guy behind Pintxo and Velvet Elvis on Glasgow’s Dumbarton Road, is in the throes of launching a new cafe next to his existing outlets.
Dubbed The Criterion, it is to be a homage to the great Scots Italian cafes that used to be a much more prominent feature of Scotland’s eating out landscape.
Details are still sketchy but the blog understands that The Criterion is to feature an eye-opening twist on the pizza. I can’t imagine what it will be but I am intrigued.
Mawn’s new venture will officially open to the public on Thursday 2 September at 5pm. We’ll fill in all the details closer to the opening.
