Charan Gill is banking on Scotland qualifying for the 2012 UEFA Championships

As the blog has noted on a number of occasions, Charan Gill is a man who knows an opportunity when he sees one.

His latest plan is to sell VIP boxes at his Sauchiehall Street Slumdog restaurant to watch the Scottish and English 2012 UEFA Cup qualifiers in September.

Mr Gill said, “If there’s two things Glaswegians love it’s curry and football. Now our VIP boxes bring Glaswegians’ well-known love for curry and football together under the one roof in a unique networking and corporate entertainment package.”

Scotland’s first game is on Friday 3 September against Lithuania. The bookies don’t rate either side giving roughly 6/4 on the draw and a shade over 2/1 on either side managing a clear victory.

Each place in the Slumdog VIP footies box costs £18.95 plus VAT.
