Aberdeen can boast Scotland’s first Hilton Garden Inn after a new branch of the hotel opened yesterday on the city’s St Andrew Street.

While it is the third Hilton branded hotel in Aberdeen, the only other UK Hilton Garden Inn is located in Luton.

Taking its name from one of Aberdeen’s aliases, the hotel restaurant is known as the Granite City.

A grill menu of steaks is paired with a selection of main courses such as the deep fried pollock with thick cut chips and a pea and Pancetta pureé or the tourist-friendly chicken supreme served with skirlie mash, black pudding, sugar carrots and a Drambuie cream sauce.
