I must admit that most of the jobs I’ve had so far have tended to follow a particular daily routine. Working at 5pm.co.uk however, you never know what each new day is going to bring. Hence on a drizzly Wednesday morning in the middle of Royal Exchange Square I found myself embroiled in a food fight with some of the biggest names in the Glasgow restaurant scene! The reason for this culinary carnage was to celebrate the launch of this years Glasgow Restaurant Awards. The awards are being organised by the Glasgow Restaurant Association with the aim of celebrating the city’s flourishing restaurant scene. Categories will include best newcomer, a lifetime achievement award, and restaurant of the year. The awards are due to take place in December, with the shortlist being announced at the end of October. If Wednesday’s madness is anything to go by, competition should be fierce!
