The new look Metropolitan in Glasgow's Merchant City

The Metropolitan Bar and Restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant City has just unveiled a massive make-over.

The award-winning cocktail bar, style bar, piano lounge and a la carte restaurant has splashed out £200,000 on what can only be described as the ‘full Gok’.

One of the aims of the refurb was to differentiate the appeal of Metropolitan’s many different areas. Comprising a style bar; high-ceilinged piano lounge and cocktail bar; courtyard and an a la carte restaurant which is spread over balconies overlooking Merchant Square, there is certainly no shortage of choice in the venue.

‘What I’m most pleased about Metropolitan’s new look is that it has been given a luxurious feel,’ says manager Darren Scott. ‘While the redesign has managed to retain its cool and contemporary industrial feel, it has also lent the space a luxurious comfortable feeling that creates a welcoming environment for a range of clientele – from individuals and couples to larger groups of friends catching up over a few drinks.’

Metropolitan’s makeover extends to its food offering, with the introduction of a new bar menu, a la carte menu and cocktail list. You can check out their 5pm offers here.
