The newspapers love wacky food stories and this one in the Daily Mail is a doozie.

It’s about an American nutrition professor who lost two stone eating exactly the sort of food that most doctors would advise against.

Labelled the Twinkie Diet, the nutritionist ate sweets, snacks and donuts in an effort to show that weight loss is about controlling the number of calories consumed rather than the sort of food you eat.

After ten weeks of Twinkie bars, one imagines that he was rather pleased to sit down to a green salad and a fruit bowl.
