Putting the final touches to the glass chandelier

Hyde Out bar held its launch party last night.

A funky style bar with a jaw-dropping chandelier made from thousands of glasses, it’s part of the Quay development in Edinburgh’s Fountainbridge area.

It’s a bit windy for it today but the bar has a large outside seating area on the first floor which will be rather tasty come the summer months.

The bar is exceptionally well stocked and the food menu goes way beyond the usual pub grub stuff.

Seared tuna with wasabi breadcrumbs; king prawns with seared watermelon and beetroot cured salmon on rye bread are some of dishes on the menu.

The blog was also pleased to see a fondue selection. As well as the classic Gruyere with white wine and garlic, Hyde Out has a more jazzy asparagus and bacon fondue. The Seventies revival starts right here.
