The courtyard at Kudos

It is all go on the bar front at the moment with a number of new and imminent openings all popping up on the radar.

The weekend saw the launch of Kudos bar and restaurant on Glasgow’s Waterloo Street. It is on the site of the old Archie’s which suffered badly from a fire in 2005.

After a six figure refurb of the site, Kudos has opened its doors with a wide-ranging food offer.

They are running an express lunch menu which has a selection of dishes such as lasagne, steak pie and battered haddock for a fiver.

The main menu travels between Med-style dishes such as Greek kleftico lamb to burgers, haggis dishes and a grill selection.

As well as the bar, dining room and function room, Kudos has a rather snazzy looking atrium area.

Later this week, Hyde Out is due to launch in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh and the Balmoral is putting a Martini-spin on its long standing Palm Court bar. We’ll have more on them later this week.

We also hear that Edinburgh’s Amicus Apple (check their 5pm offers here) have launched a new venture in Aberdeen on Langstane Place. Your blog correspondent is in Aberdeen tonight and, with a bit of luck, we’ll be able to bring you more info later on this week.
