Phoebe the Fromagiere

If you have a freakishly good memory then you may recall that back in March the blog rumbled on about the Roving Fromagiere?

The fromagiere is cheese expert Phoebe Weller, a former Mellis employee turned full time cheese consultant. Since we blogged about Phoebe, she has gone on to judge at the British Cheese Awards and (I love this) she has become the cheese correspondent for STV’s The Hour.

Phoebe is about to roll out her winter series of tutored cheese tastings or, as she calls them, chewtorials.

Starting on Thursday, the Talking Cheeseboard programme of one hour chewtorials kicks off in Fifi and Allys in Glasgow’s Princes Square.

Taking place twice a month, the course will leave cheese scholars knowledgable about all aspects of cheese from French classics to English new wave cheese via Scottish favourites.

The Scotsman ran a piece on the chewtorials here if you want the skinny on what exactly happens.

If you are still feeling peckish after your Dunsyre Blue then Princes Square has a number of tasty 5pm member restaurants and you can check out their deals by clicking on them: D’Arcys, Cranachan, Barca, The Restaurant Bar and Grill and November.
