Amicus Apple in Aberdeen

As we noted earlier, those Amicus Apple boys have not been sitting on their laurels since launching the popular Edinburgh bar and restaurant back in 2006.

They have recently expanded and opened the 250 capacity Aberdeen branch of Amicus Apple on Aberdeen’s Langstane Place. We hope to have plenty of info about their food offering shortly but for now we’ll just tell you that they have a VIP area and a heated smirting area for those of you who like to combine flirting and tabs.

Also in the Aberdeen area, we hear that the well respected Eat on the Green restaurant at Udny Green has just opened a Tasting Room which will feature a seven course tasting menu.

Named Young Grampian Chef of the Year in 2008 and 2009, Orry Shand, 21, is taking the helm at the Tasting Room. The restaurant’s owner, Craig Wilson, hopes that the development could see the Michelin man taking an interest.

‘As one of the area’s finest award-winning young chefs, Orry shows passion in everything he does, huge attention to detail and an exceptional talent for creating imaginative and flavoursome dishes. So, with Orry at the helm with his enthusiasm and fresh ideas, I see no reason why together we cannot achieve Michelin star status for the Tasting Room.’

Best of luck to all concerned.
