Cocktail training is under way at the Tiki Bar

Keen readers will remember that the blog was blethering away about a new tiki bar which was planned for Bath Street in Glasgow.

Thanks in part to the latest edition of the excellent Dram magazine, we have news.

Called the Tiki Bar and Kitsch Inn, the new place is taking shape at 214 Bath Street in the former Baby Blue premises.

The idea is that there will be a tiki bar in the basement serving cocktails in ceramic tiki mugs while upstairs there will be a restaurant serving Thai food.

We hear on the jungle drums that the grass skirts are being pressed and the flower necklaces assembled for a grand opening next weekend.

You can check their cocktail menu on their Facebook page here. As well as classic Mai Tais and Zombies, the menu includes the Glasvegas Kiss.

Designed to share and priced at £20, it includes Stoly orange vodka, Irn Bru syrup, several types of fruit juice and an orange liqueur.

Aloha!
