Valentine's Day for oysters is like Christmas Day for turkeys

There is less than a week to go until Valentine’s Day and if you haven’t sorted out a suitable venue for a romantic meal then you had better get your skates on or book a berth in the dog house.

The Mussel Inn on Glasgow’s Hope Street is celebrating its tenth birthday this year and, as part of the celebrations, they have put oysters on their specials menu for the imminent Valentine’s weekend.

According to Matt Johansson, food and beverage manager at Mussel Inn, their oysters are ‘carefully nurtured in the sea lochs of the Scottish west coast. Selected by hand and sustainably cultivated, our oysters grow more slowly than those from warmer waters and provide a richness and depth of taste that we believe is unique.’

If oysters don’t rev your engine then the Mussel Inn’s menus offer plenty of other choices as do the other 5pm restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
