MiO: for people who don't find water exciting enough

This blogger is all for new food and drink experiences but, every now and then, it seems as though things have gone too far and some new product launch is not an exciting addition to consumer choice but the beginning of the end of civilisation.

In America, Kraft have just launched something called MiO. It’s a ‘liquid water enhancer’ because, according to their sharply written blurb, ‘water needs a wingman’.

The idea is that you squeeze a couple of drops of MiO into a glass of water to flavour it.

Or rather, as Kraft’s marketing would have it, to ‘personalise’ the water.

Flavours include berry pomegranate and sweet tea.

Maybe I’m missing the point here but if you want to drink water then why not drink water? If you want to drink pomegranate juice then open a carton.

Grrrrr.
