The Orchid Group, which runs several pub brands and The Living Room restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow, is to start selling The Express and OK magazine in 30 of its outlets.

The idea is to try and attract more women through the door.

The best pubs usually have a selection of papers on the bar anyway. I can’t see that being able to buy them is going to get more bums on seats.

Still, it got me thinking. What added extras would entice you into a bar or restaurant that you might not have considered otherwise?

An Eat Yourself Beautiful menu? Mmmmm, collagen goji berry sorbet.

How about an extreme cheeseboard?
