Brian Maule: pan-handler extraordinaire

Having won his wings looking after Le Gavroche for the Roux family, Brian Maule has done a cracking job establishing his Chardon D’Or restaurant as one of Glasgow’s top flight fine dining spots.

If you want to know how he does it, while quaffing a glass of something bubbly, then he is holding his ‘welcoming spring’ cookery demo this coming Saturday.

Beginning at 11:30am with a glass of champagne, Brian will demonstrate the preparation of two of his award winning dishes as well as answering any questions you have and imparting tips and knowledge from his career.

After the question and answer session guests will head upstairs and enjoy a two course lunch, tasting the dishes demonstrated.

In a new twist, Steven Whitbread, head sommelier at Chardon d’Or, will be sharing his wine-based wisdom with guests and providing expert advice on how to select and pair the perfect wine for each dish.

The demo and lunch is £44 a head. An early Mother’s Day treat, perhaps?
