Ever wondered how to spatchcock a chicken?

Breville have come up with a neat idea: an online cookery encyclopedia.

Called The Creative Kitchen by Breville, it’s a good looking, multi-media package that you can use to to look up specific questions such as ‘How do I make fish stock?’ or ‘What’s the best way to devein a prawn?’.

Naturally, there are a few plugs for toasties but they haven’t been too in your face about it. It’s written in a nice, lively style so you can dip in and out of it with ease and, whether you are a novice or a master chef in the kitchen, you should find something to amuse and entertain.

For example, the writer Neil Sowerby has contributed a sparkling essay on tea and coffee which considers the burning questions such as ‘milk in first?’ and how many gallons of tea has Tony Benn drunk in his lifetime.

It has around 250 pages of content at the moment but that will grow over time.
