][1]Browns brasserie opens on George Square in Glasgow this week.
The restaurant and bar group has been running since 1973 and it’s fair to say that they have honed their offer over that time. Their restaurants aren’t really trendy or cutting edge but they offer good quality, well prepared food. The menus are seasonal and not immune to food fashions but they tend to focus on the classics.
All of which is to be encouraged.
They are road-testing their menus on Tuesday and Wednesday and then holding an opening party on Thursday. I’m not sure how many, if any, places are left but you can register for a complimentary two course test lunch or dinner and the party on their site here.
