The stunning view from Craig Millar @ 16 West End in St Monans

The times they are a ‘changing in the kingdom of Fife.

For the last thirteen years, Craig Millar and Tim Butler have been in partnership running both The Seafood Restaurants in St Andrews and St Monans.

From Saturday 4 June, Millar will be going solo at the St Monans restaurant while Butler will be in control of the St Andrews operation.

The St Monans restaurant is changing its name to Craig Millar @ 16 West End and it is also tweaking its menu.

‘I’m really proud of everything Tim and I have achieved in the last 13 years but it has always been my ambition to have my own place,’ says Millar. ‘Initially I wasn’t keen to use my own name as I thought it might appear a bit pretentious, but then I realised that I wanted diners to know it will be me in the  kitchen.’

Local seafood will still be to the fore at the new restaurant but land-based ingredients will also be getting more of a look-in.

‘There are times of the year when a lamb is  nicer than a lobster,’ says Millar.

Sticking with the northern end of the Forth Rail Bridge, Craig and Vikki Wood, owners of The Wee Restaurant in North Queensferry, are to take over the management of The Bar and Grill Room at Aberdour Golf Club from Wednesday 1 June 2011.
