Drink Teatime Martinis at The Blind Pig. It's for charity.

There are lots of ways to contribute to charity. Some, such as running up Kilimanjaro, are hard. Others, such as slurping cocktails and eating cakes, are easy.

Both help.

Never one to walk the thorny path when there might be a taxi available, your blogger is all for doing things the easy way so huzzah for this charity event at The Blind Pig in Glasgow next Tuesday.

The Glasgow Restaurant Association has teamed up with The Blind Pig on Byres Road to host Maggie’s Mad Hatters Tea Party at The Intoxicating Tea Rooms.

An early evening of cocktails, cupcakes and mixology, all profits from the evening go to Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre.

As we may have mentioned before, Maggie’s Glasgow Centre is the focus of the Who Gives a Fork campaign which has been set up by the GRA and is supported by 5pm.

Elegant, if perhaps a little decadent, this Teatime Martini event features a traditional cake stand with scones, cupcakes and ever so dainty gourmet sandwiches.

You’ll also get your very own mixologist to whip you up a whopping great teapot filled to the brim with cocktails.

You’ll leave full of cocktails and treats, but also with invaluable cocktail knowledge as head cocktail guru Scott Stevens hosts an interactive cocktail master class, teaching you how to create the delicious concoctions that fill your teapot.

All profits from the event go to the charity.

Gather your chums and book in. Not only will you get drinks, cakes and impressive cocktail skills with which to impress friends and win lovers, you will also get a warm glow from helping the Maggie’s Centre.
