A couple of newbies in Edinburgh are preparing to open their doors.

The Yocoko noodle bar on the South Bridge is promising to open soon while Tanjore, a South Indian restaurant, is taking shape in Newington opposite the old Odeon cinema.

The Mosque Kitchen, a nominee for the Best Indian at the 2010 Scottish Restaurant Awards, has moved around the corner in to the Nicolson Square premises that formerly housed Imans Grill.

The same bargain prices that made the place so popular with legions of students continue to apply: a chicken curry and rice is £4. The Kitchen has extended its opening hours into the evening when a £10 buffet menu is in place.
