It's coming.

BrewDog’s long awaited Glasgow bar seems to be spending a long time in its kennel making itself look purdy before its big debut.

At the time of writing, the latest news was that the team was going to try and open the bar on Monday 25th July. Judging by the most recent Facebook photos of the interior that seems ambitious.

Whether it opens on the 25th or the date slides into August, BrewDog’s legion of fans are straining at the leash to raise a glass in the new Kelvingrove premises.

It is a fascinating company. The blog has banged on about their maverick marketing on a number of occasions but their fund raising efforts are also unorthodox.

Back in 2009, they launched their ‘Equity for Punks‘ share issue and raised some £650,000 worth of capital from fans who liked their beer and wanted to buy a piece of the company.

Apparently, they are set to launch a second round of fund raising in the next few weeks.

Crowdsourcing funding is nothing new but the way that the company first developed a fiercely loyal following is interesting.

Watch this space for more news about their new bar and their fly business moves. You can seldom predict what BrewDog will try to pull off next but it’s never dull.
