The Butchershop Bar and Grill wil be hosting a French dinner

A couple of foodie evenings are on the September horizon and you may wish to put them in your diary now.

First up, the Butchershop Bar and Grill in Glasgow’s West End, is going Gallic on Wednesday 14th September with a five course French dinner paired with wine.

Head chef Alex Thain, who previously worked in three star Guy Savoy restaurant in Paris, will be creating a menu inspired by the Languedoc-Roussillon region.

Expect regional specialities such as the cod-based brandade de morue. The dinner costs £45 per person and starts with canapés at 7pm.

At the other end of the M8, Chef Mattia Camorani at Cucina in Hotel Missoni is hosting the next in his series of Italian Cooking Masterclasses on Tuesday 13th September.

Risotto bianco is the subject of this class. Teaming some of his family’s traditional cooking methods with his flair for modern Italian cuisine, Chef Mattia will deliver an easy, informative step-by-step demonstration of how to make the perfect risotto.

Guests will enjoy some of Mattia’s work along with a selection of wines chosen by the hotel restaurant Cucina’s resident sommelier, Marta Giannella.

To complete the dining experience, guests that book a three course meal from the a la carte menu in Cucina following the demonstration will be offered a complimentary dish of risotto bianco and glass of wine to complete their Italian experience in style.

The one hour event runs from 6pm beginning with a welcome glass of Prosecco and canapés.

Tickets to the event cost £25pp and spaces are limited to ten people per session.
