The Wee Cucina is a new Italian which has just started dishing out the pasta in Giffnock.
As the name suggests, the Fenwick Road venture is a compact and bijou little joint that specialises in rustic Italian dishes.
A very extensive menu features all the pasta and risotto variations that you might imagine while the piccoli piatti section serves up an Italian take on tapas-sized dishes.
Typical choices might include the funghi or Italian sausage pizzas; mini-lasagnas; grilled lemon chicken breasts or bowls of mixed seafood soup.
As well as the a la carte all day menu, the Wee Cucina has a restricted choice early day menu which offers between three and five tapas portions per person for between £9.95 and £13.95.
Apparently, it is already very busy and advance booking is recommended.
The depth of Glasgow’s appetite for Italian tapas will be further tested a week on Friday when the vast Pesto restaurant on St Vincent Street is scheduled to open with its range of piattini or little dishes.
