Amazing video over at kottke.org of a unique Japanese dish.
Odori-don, literally “dancing squid rice bowl”. A live squid with its head removed is served on top of a bowl of sushi rice, accompanied by sashimi prepared from the head… Seasoned soy sauce is first poured on top of the squid to make it “dance”.
Warning, the video is not for the squeamish, Jen in the office is the most un-squeamish person in the world, ever and felt slightly uncomfortable for minutes after viewing.
