The veg competition: come and have a go if you think you're chard enough

Tomorrow marks the start of the Dundee Flower and Food Festival.

Taking place at Camperdown Park, the event offers three days of cookery and gardening demos, a craft fair, producers’ stalls and, of course, some of Tayside’s most magnificent vegetables will be competing to be Best in Show.

The event will also see the inaugural World Jampionships, a competition to see who can make the best jam and a great excuse for puns. If you think that your jam is the berry best then get down there.

A whole host of top notch chefs will be giving demos over the three days including Geoffrey Smeddle of the Peat Inn, Fred Berkmiller of L’Escargot Bleu and Blanc; Andrew Mackintosh of Aubergine at the Craigtay and Jacqueline O’Donnell of The Sisters.

Gino D’Acampo is the sleb chef on display.
