It’s all hands on deck at No12 Picardy Place as they race to ready their new restaurant, Steak Edinburgh, for the proposed opening date of February 9th.

Completely separate from Restaurant Mark Greenaway which is also at No 12, the new venture has Jason Wright, formerly of Ondine, at the helm in the kitchen.

As the name suggests, it’s all about the beef at the new restaurant with the kitchen dishing up five different cuts of meat from three different breeds of cattle including Limousin and Aberdeen Angus.

As well as ordering their preferred cut of steak cooked the way they want it, customers will also be able to choose between three different sauces (Bearnaise, mixed peppercorn and blue cheese hollandaise) plus ten different side dishes including truffled macaroni cheese, lobster mash and three different kinds of chips.

Mr Wright has really gone to town on the beef theme with a six course tasting menu that starts with a crispy tongue salad and ends with a sticky toffee pudding made with suet and an intriguing beef jus caramel.
