Tattie Macs has become Crabbie Macs

Being a bit slow on the uptake, the blog has just noticed that Tattie Macs on Glasgow’s Otago Street has changed tack and become Crabby Macs.

Obviously, with a name like that, there will be no prizes for guessing the central theme of the new menu but we’ll spell it out anyway.

Along with Scottish beef and game, Scottish seafood takes pride of place at Crabby Macs. Think along the lines of langoustines, lobster, king scallops, oysters, potted crab and a whopping grilled seafood platter.

It is run by the Partners Group who also have the Italian Bistro on Great Western Road and Brasserie 19 at Bearsden Cross.

Sticking with new ventures, we see that Malvarosa has opened in Portobello and is bringing a little taste of Spain to the seaside suburb.

There are also developments at No. 12 Picardy Place which is in the process of kitting out a new steak restaurant which is due to open in February.

It will operate alongside the more experimental cooking of Restaurant Mark Greenaway which is also at No.12 Picardy Place. Greenaway’s restaurant has been nominated for the Most Innovative Restaurant of the Year at the [Scottish Restaurant Awards.
