Mark Salter will give a cookery demo at The Lake of Menteith Hotel tomorrow

Looking for foodie adventure over the weekend?

Try the Mark Salter cookery demo and lunch at The Lake of Menteith Hotel and Waterfront Restaurant which takes place tomorrow.

Among the dishes he’ll be cooking are crab cakes on sauteed courgette with tarragon and white wine butter sauce; perfect for anyone who is already fed up their New Year diet.

Although born in the UK, these days Mr Salter is based in the state of Maryland where he cooks at the Robert Morris Inn, the sister inn to the Lake of Menteith Hotel.

He has been around the block a few times and has the accolades to prove it.

High profile diners who he has cooked for include Owen Wilson, Paul Newman and, don’t let this put you off, one Baroness Thatcher.

Tickets, including a three course lunch, are £42 a head. There are only a few left at the time of writing so you’ll need to be snappy if you wanna go.

Your blogger has been up to the hotel and it sits in a gorgeous location with huge windows that look out over the lake.
