Just a couple of quickies. I enjoyed this interview with Alan Stillman, the man who started the TGI Friday chain in Manhattan in 1965 because he wanted to meet girls.

It worked and, rather more importantly, the venture kick started a million similar competitors and redefined the restaurant scene in America and much of Europe.

On a lighter note, your blogger is always a sucker for tales of the world’s most expensive cocktail, biggest nan bread and so on. As a  result, I was most tickled by this Metro story about a chilli so hot that it can burn through gloves.
