Jason Wright, head chef at Edinburgh's new Steak restaurant, tackles a T-bone

Steak, the new steakhouse at No 12 Picardy Place in Edinburgh, is running a fun promo this weekend.

Everyone who eats from the brunch menu at Steak this Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11am and 3pm on each day will be treated to a full refund on their food bill IF Scotland score the first scoring play which is a Scottish try in the Six Nations match against France this Sunday at Murrayfield.

Natch, the restaurant is keen to encourage fans to watch the Sunday afternoon match on their big screen.

Dainty appetites might choose to nibble on some cinnamon French toast for £4.

Those who are more confident that Scotland will be the first over the line might prefer to gamble and go for the mixed grill for two people. Weighing in at £35, it comprises a 250g sirloin steak, pigeon breast, homemade sausage, Stornaway black pudding, haggis, bone marrow, homemade baked beans, wild mushrooms, roast shallot purée and dripping chips. Exactly the sort of line-up that would stop even the doughtiest loosehead prop in his tracks.

Your blogger is in two minds about this one. I would be delighted to see Scotland score a try against Les Bleus at Murrayfield but have wagered heavily on France winning the Six Nations.
