The Chophouse Brasserie is a meaty offering

The Chophouse Brasserie is the latest steak restaurant to launch in the Central Belt.

The new venture takes over from the old Sizzlers restaurant which has operated in Glasgow’s Merchant Square since 1992.

With The Chophouse, the owners hope to combine the ambience of Twenties and Thirties New York with contemporary tastes.

The Chophouse Brasserie’s signature grill selection features fresh cuts of prime Scottish beef, pork and lamb. The beef cuts available are Angus rump, sirloin, Porterhouse and fillet alongside veal cutlets, Ayrshire gammon steaks and roasted half chickens.

The house burger is made from premium cuts of Aberdeen Angus and is served with chunky skin-on Maris Piper chips.

While beef is the main focus at The Chophouse, you don’t have to be a red in tooth and claw carnivore to sit at the table. Naturally, there is a veggie section to the menu and a selection of fish dishes such as moules marinieres; smoked haddock and bacon fishcakes, sautéed king prawns and grilled salmon.
