Well, there you go. Valentine’s Day over for another year. Hopefully, a good time was had by all.

However, if it didn’t go so smoothly, we’d recommend a stiff drink. Lurking at the back of the 5pm booze news cabinet, we found a couple of fairly exotic tipples.

First up is the Naga Chilli Vodka which has just been launched at Selfridges in London. It weighs in at a hefty 100,000 on the Scoville scale. To put that into perspective, it will have around the same effect on your nerve endings as biting into a Scotch Bonnet.

It might make a great Bloody Mary but we would recommend having a pint of milk to hand just in case.

Probably not a breakfast tipple

We were more taken by news from Barts bar in Chelsea which has produced a range of tobacco flavoured cocktails.

Having a fly fag is an avenue of pleasure which has been long closed to the blog. But that doesn’t mean we need to swear off smoky delights altogether.

Bart’s Goes Up In Smoke menu uses Perique Tobacco Liqueur which, like all premium cocktail ingredients has a long and almost certainly embellished back story involving Louisiana settlers.

Make mine a Holy Smoke cocktail which blends Perique, Hennessy V.S., Havana Club 7 Y.O. and vanilla syrup. It certainly sounds more fun than huddling by the bus stop sucking on a B&H.
