The pass at L’escargot Bleu

Fans of French food may be interested to learn that student chefs from the hotel school in Dinard, Brittany are returning to Edinburgh to staff a one night pop-up restaurant in The Hub.

This new event, taking place on Saturday 31 March, follows on from last year when students from the school did a cultural exchange in Scotland which we blogged about here.

Once more, the Institut Francais and Frédéric Berkmiller, chef patron at L’escargot Bleu and L’escargot Blanc, have teamed up with several of Scotland’s best known restaurants to show the French students the best of Scottish cooking.

Restaurant Martin Wishart, Roy Brett’s Ondine Restaurant, Wedgwood the Restaurant, Craig Wood’s The Wee Restaurant and Fred’s Escargot restaurants are all involved.

The cost of the three course surprise menu is £32 for member of the French Institute and £35 for non-members. The event kicks off at 7pm.

If you can’t wait until then, it’s worth noting that L’escargot Blanc in Edinburgh’s West End is running a £25 three course surprise menu with 5pm. More details here.

Diners are promised French cuisine using Scottish produce.
