Henning Wehn: Germany's comedy ambassador

Glasgow International Comedy Festival kicks off today and the city is filling up with professional rib ticklers, gag merchants and wise guys.

The Butchershop Bar & Grill on Sauchiehall Street is getting in on the act in a number of fun ways. First up, they are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Festival, by offering a 10% discount on their a la carte menu to festival attendees (you’ll need to show your ticket).

They are also running a comedy festival menu which you can peruse here.

If you fancy your chances as comic then you can enter their Twitter joke competition. Simply tweet @butchershopgla with your best gag.

The Butchershop will decide whose gag hit the funny bone hardest and award the winner a dinner for two.

Get tweeting, hungry humorists.

I’ll get the ball rolling with a hoary old chestnut: Did you know that six out of seven dwarves aren’t happy?

Badoom tish! They don’t write ‘em like that anymore, fortunately. Etc etc etc

As if you needed any more encouragement, the Butchershop and Grill is big hit with 5pmers. Just over seventy of you have eaten there and given the place a combined score of 4.2/5.
