Mattia Camorani: head chef at Cucina at Hotel Missoni

The recent Easter weekend means that the brief British asparagus season is at hand.

The kitchen team at Cucina at Hotel Missoni in Edinburgh have been quick off the blocks to announce their special asparagus menu.

Head Chef Mattia Camorani has designed a three course Menu Degustazione Di Asparagi which runs from Monday 16th April until Saturday 21st April.

Priced at £35 a head, the menu includes dishes such as grilled asparagus salad with parmesan cheese; green asparagus risotto and grilled salmon with asparagus sauce.

Regular readers will remember that Mattia and his team scooped the prize for Best Italian Restaurant at the Scottish Restaurant Awards earlier this year for the second time in a row.

If asparagus doesn’t float your boat but you would like to try the cooking at Cucina then you can book in through 5pm for their Missoni a Mezzogiorno Menu: 2 courses for £14.95 including a complimentary selection of delicious, Italian breads and oils, a bottle of still or sparkling water, and fresh tea and coffee along with homemade petits fours. Three courses are £17.95.
