It’s beginning to feel like a dream. An entire weekend of glorious sunshine followed by a Monday morning with blue skies. What’s going on?

If you want to make the most of the glorious weather then you might want to think about Fleming’s Bar and Grill which opened in Newton Mearns a little over a week ago.

It’s billed as a boutique restaurant and bar and comes from the same stable as the popular Barca Tapas and Cava Bar in Princes Square.

A neighbourhood grill, it aims to cater for local residents and, especially, the family market.

Part of the attraction is the beer garden. When the sun is shining, a cold beer or chilled glass of rose always seems to taste that little bit crisper.

Covering all bases, Fleming’s runs breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and pre-theatre menus as well as their evening a la carte and a bar menu.

The a la carte is interesting with trad pizza and pasta sitting alongside the steak-led grill menu and well travelled dishes such as the seared Tarbert scallops with cauliflower puree, cauliflower bhajis and curry oil plus micro leaves.

The bar menu features a pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce and slaw – a dish which almost certainly be at its best in the beer garden accompanied by a long, tall, frosted glass filled with something slightly bitter.
