Innis & Gunn have popped up on Potterrow

The beer-loving boys and girls at Innis & Gunn have taken over 32 Potterrow in Edinburgh’s Newington until the end of August. Just two minutes from the George Square/Bristo Square Fringe hub, it’s likely to be popular with lovers of their oak-aged beers.

Not that Innis & Gunn are the only beers on offer in the bar. There are drinks from other Scottish companies such as Stewart Brewing, Willam Brothers and Thistly Cross as well as a decent selection of nearly a hundred whiskies. There is also an evolving menu of gourmet pub grub with a Scottish slant.

Over the last couple of years, Innis & Gunn have put a lot of effort into matching their oak-aged beers with food and the pop-up is no exception.

You may want to fish your diaries out for the forthcoming events at 32 Potterrow:

Beer and chocolate pairing with Coco on Wednesday 11th July

One o’clock Gunn sampling on Friday 13th July. From the 3-27 August, the bar will be running a daily sampling of rare, export and hard to find Innis & Gunn bottlings. Lucky for some, this Friday 13th event will give a preview of August’s tastings.

We also hear that former MasterChef contestant Ross Boyce will be the guest chef at 32 Potterrow on the evening of Wednesday 25th July. Twitterati may be familiar with Ross’ postings as Happy Appetite and his blog The Itinerant Appetite.

At the time of writing, we understand that dates are also being arranged for a IJ Mellis cheese and beer pairing night.

Keep up to date with the happenings via the pop-up’s Facebook page.
