Right, the 5pm blog has spent the night casting runes, looking at tea leaves and consulting the BBC weather site. As a result, we can confidently predict that the Taste of Edinburgh festival, which starts today on The Meadows, is very likely to be, er, less than scorchio.
The organisers have taken a pragmatic view and, in between praying to the gods for sun, have set out out some top tips for how to make the most of the festival.
It comes under the heading ‘Get Ready for a Brolly Good Show’ and tip number advises visitors to wear their wellies rather than the Jimmy Choos.
