Does Innis & Gunn beer go with food? ‘Course it does but best book into a taste matching night just to be certain

Those crazy cats at the Innis & Gunn bar on Edinburgh’s Potterrow are at it again. Hot on the heels of the sell-out ‘Pig-out’ event with MasterChef contestant Ross Boyce, the pop-up bar has announced two new dates which are bound to appeal to beer lovers.

On Monday 13th and Monday 20th August, drinks writer Tom Bruce-Gardyne will be matching beers to foods at Innis & Gunn at 32 Potterrow. Events starts at 6.30pm and cost £15 per person. Details can be found here.

Along the way, guests will sample food from the likes of haggis champions, Macsweens, and the Burgh’s own Iain J Mellis cheesemonger, together with brews from Innis & Gunn as well as other Scottish specialty brewers, including Williams Bros and Stewart Brewing.

It looks like being a couple of cracking nights. If you enjoy yourself there and would like to become more closely acquainted with all the good stuff that Innis & Gunn are doing at Potterrow then you will be interested in the Big Deal which is running currently.

You can find the full details here but, essentially, two people can each enjoy a lunchtime main course plus an Innis & Gunn Blonde or Original Beer (330ml bottles) for £17 during the week.
